This public safety website was designed and developed by the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, in cooperation with the city and county governments and emergency management of Hampton Roads. The intent is to make the residents of Hampton Roads aware of the hazards and risks that could arise from natural or man-made origins and how they could impact their lives, in hope that residents will not only learn how to be prepared, but take the appropriate actions to be prepared before a major emergency or disaster arises. This website is a government website that provides emergency preparedness information from official and reliable emergency management sources for the more common hazards in Hampton Roads.

The website is hosted at the WHRO Center for Public Telecommunications, in cooperative agreement with the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission. See the Web Site Recognitions.
